Working with what You Have

I have $10 to  get Dinner for Three

I wondered what I could get at the grocery store clearance sale.  Turns out, creative.

I have been visiting this spot in the meat department frequently lately. I want to know the differance between yesterdays regular priced food and today's clearance.

I'm using the same skill (skill?) I use when an absolutely fatalistic well fitting item shows up at the beginning of the fashion season that I don't want to pay full price for. I wait.

Like most middle aged divorced women. I developed my patience during my post divorce bar scene phase. Waiting to be picked. After a few years I came to. I had a new skill and traded in my leopard print blouse for a lasso, but that's another blog post.

At the grocery store on this day I got dinner of Jacksonville "brats" for only
$1.99; a savings of over 300%. Added some crusty buns, onions, apple and cabbage. TA-DA supper inexpensive dinner. It took me too long to prepare it, I was heading to evening class, so I ended up eating fast food.  Still the total cost including the transgression was under $10.00
I am glad I am not a food blogger, I don't think I have the flair for it.
